Residents of Belton are offered a full calendar of activities that includes a St. Patrick's Day parade, the South 71 Cruisers Car Show that runs from April through October, Thursday's Farmers Market throughout the summer, Belton Community Days and the Annual Biker's, Blues and BBQ Special Olympics in May. The Sommerfest in June features kids' activities, German food and drink, and live music, while the holiday crafters show, "Kristkindlmarkt" is held in November. Education

As part of the Belton School District, area elementary students are served by Cambridge, Gladden, Hillcrest, Kentucky Trail or Scott Elementary Schools. Students progress to Yeokum Middle School, followed by Mill Creek Upper Elementary School for fifth and sixth grade, while older students are served by Belton High School and Belton Academy, the city's alternative high school. Additionally, Belton-Ozanam Southland Cooperative (BOSCO) is an innovative K-12 educational day treatment program serving students from 17 Kansas City area school districts, designed to serve students with severe behavior disorders or emotional disturbances. Higher education is provided by Avila University, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Rockhurst University, to name a few.
